The international launch of the statement “Sisters for the Environment: Integrating Voices from the Margins” will take place on Thursday, 3^rd November 2022 with both audience and speakers present in Rome for the duration of two hours with live broadcasting.

Part 2 – Conversation for the planet

• Debate among Sisters engaged in Sowing Hope for the Planet initiatives, business, civil society, and international organisations engaged for the environment.
• Q&A with the diplomatic corps, young people and academia
• Closure of the event

Leading questions for the debate include:

• What are the main challenges and opportunities in the current social and historic moment, and especially at COP 27 and COP 15, to raise awareness and take action to jointly protect our planet?
• How can the voice and needs of the most vulnerable people be heard and supported by global development decision-makers?
• In response to the climate emergency and loss of biodiversity, what are the main recommendations and ideas for follow-up measures to this Statement from UISG?
