Given the magnitude of the global migratory phenomenon, and building on its experiences on the ground in Sicily, UISG has launched a new phase of its International Migration project. With support from Sisters Advocating Globally, this project will:
- Create a network of support for religious congregations working in this field, and encourage congregations that would like to enter this ministry;
- Develop reflection processes on the phenomenon of migration, and explore the implication for training and mission within religious congregations;
- Develop a spirituality that allows Sisters to be converted by the migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people they encounter.
